Privacy Policy – Privault

Privault is developed by Amazing Finch. We respect your privacy and designed Privault as a fully local, zero-knowledge password vault. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app processes and, more importantly, what data is not collected or shared.

1. No collection of personal data

Privault does not collect, store, send, or share personal data with the developer or with third parties. The app works without an account and does not send vault data to servers, cloud platforms, or external services.

Privault does not collect:

  • name, address, or contact details;
  • email address or account information;
  • device identifiers or tracking identifiers;
  • analytics or usage statistics;
  • passwords, notes, usernames, URLs, or any other vault content;
  • personal data outside the user's own device.

2. Local storage

All data stored in Privault remains exclusively on your own device. The app does not require an internet connection for its core functionality. Your data does not leave your device unless you actively choose to export or back it up.

3. Encryption and zero-knowledge design

Privault uses strong encryption to protect stored data. Only you can access your vault using your main password and, if enabled, your recovery key. The developer cannot view, read, or recover your stored data.

4. Biometric security

Privault can optionally use biometric authentication such as fingerprint unlocking.

  • Privault does not store biometric data.
  • Biometric authentication is handled entirely by the Android operating system.
  • The app only receives the authentication result (success or failure).
  • No biometric data is shared with the developer or third parties.

5. Export, backup and restore

Privault includes features for exporting, backing up, and restoring your vault. Backup files contain encrypted data only.

You are responsible for storing exported backup files securely. If you share a backup through another app or service, that processing happens outside Privault itself.

6. No ads, tracking or external services

Privault does not include advertisements, tracking systems, analytics tools, crash reporting services, or third-party advertising networks.

  • No user profiles are created.
  • No behavioral tracking takes place.
  • No data is shared with third parties.

7. Deleting data

All vault data remains on your device until you delete it yourself. If you uninstall the app or clear the app data, the locally stored data will be permanently removed.

8. Important limitation

If you lose both your main password and your recovery key, the encrypted vault cannot be recovered. Because of the zero-knowledge design, the developer has no ability to restore access to lost data.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

If Privault changes or expands in the future, this privacy policy may be updated accordingly. The latest version will always be published on this page.
